About our Greens
A microgreen is a young plant that grows for approximately one to three weeks. Grown to one to three inches tall, they are then harvested for maximum flavor, tenderness, and nutrition.
Careful Cultivation
We have two highly insulated rooms in our barn for growing and harvesting our microgreens. Heating and cooling are provided by an efficient heat pump and power is primarily from our nearby solar array.

A microgreen is a young plant that grows for approximately one to three weeks. Our mix of microgreens are harvested for maximum flavor, tenderness, and nutrition.
Studies have found that, by weight, microgreens contain 4-40 times more nutrients than the corresponding mature vegetable. A super-food!

About Us
Lori Baker and Les Snow moved to Marshfield in 1989 and started one of the first Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) projects in the country here at Wellspring Farm. Over the years, CSAs have become a huge part of the farm-fresh movement. Today, Les and Lori have an extensive garden and flower beds, providing healthy food throughout the year as well as wonderful bouquets for their table.

Having run multiple businesses in the past (for example, a freelance illustrator with national clients for 17 years; Kidlets – up-cycled hats and booties for kids across the country; executive director of a community justice center) and having earned her master’s in mediation, Lori has the skills and experience needed for starting and running an enterprise.
Les is Lori’s microgreens growing/harvesting/delivering (by bike) assistant and oversees Wellspring Greens’ freeze-dried microgreens operation…Pür Microgreens.
Addressing a health issue for many years, Lori’s focus has been personal rather than professional. Now, having the time and energy to experiment and grow, she has discovered that growing and sharing microgreens is a perfect match. She continues to test many varieties of crops to find yet more amazing mixes to share with subscribers.
We appreciate being able to keep Wellspring Greens ultra-local with a minimal carbon footprint. Together, we are growing a healthier community!
